- Juan-José Gutiérrez is the Director of the Institute for Mexican and Mexico US Studies at the Social Behavioral and Global Studies Division of the California State University at Monterey Bay, California. He earned a PhD degree in Cultural Anthropology at UC Santa Barbara in 1997. He is the North America representative at the Council of the International Oral History Association.
