Bio
Michael Coventry teaches in the interdisciplinary master's program in Communication, Culture & Technology at Georgetown University. For five years, he was an assistant director of the Visible Knowledge Project. His research examines the way that ordinary people use media and he is writing a book about the ways that soldiers used media during World War I.

Matthias Oppermann is lecturer for American Studies and New Pedagogies and Assistant Director Electronic Projects (FIAR) at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. He is also a visiting researcher at the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship at Georgetown University where he is the Electronic Projects Coordinator for the American Studies Crossroads Project. His research interests include the history of American studies movements, digital media, and critical pedagogy.
