Bio

Michael Lesk received the PhD degree in 1969 and has since worked as as a researcher with an interest in digital libraries. He managed the computer science research group at Bellcore and led the NSF Division of Information and Intelligent Systems. He's now Chair of the Department of Library and Information Science at Rutgers University. He has received the Flame award from Usenix, is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
