Dr. Elizabeth Romero is an electronic engineer from Universidad National Autónoma de México. She holds a master in computer science from Tecnológico de Monterrey, a master in education from Western Kentucky University, and a Ph.D in Organizational Development from the University of Louisville, USA. From 1995 to 2003, she was the director of the Virtual University at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus. For the last eight years, she has been a Senior Instructional Designer in the Office of Distance Learning at Western Kentucky University (WKU) where she provides consultation and training to faculty in developing online courses. Additionally, she teaches technology-related graduate level courses in the School of Teacher Education at WKU.

Nellie Deutsch earned her doctorate from the University of Phoenix from the School of Advanced Studies in 2010. Her dissertation research focused on instructor experiences with technology in blended learning contexts in higher education around the world. Dr. Deutsch is the founder of Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL), a non-profit organization that provides professional development workshops for groups around the world, generally in conjunction with different projects and initiatives. Dr. Deutsch is also founder and current coordinator of the annual Connecting Online for Instruction and Learning and Moodlemoot free online conferences, hosted online by IT4ALL.org and supported by WiZiQ online learning platform. Dr. Deutsch has provided consultation on how to integrate Moodle and Elluminate learning environments for distance education at Open University and worked as a consultant at WikiEducator.org, supported by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Otago Polytechnic (New Zealand), and Athabasca Open University (Canada) in developing online courses and facilitation. She is also an educational consultant, mentor, instructional course designer, and online facilitator on how to integrate technology into the face-to-face and online classroom using Moodle, WebQuests, Professional Electronic Portfolios (PEP), web 2.0 tools, social networks, and wikis. In addition, she is an accredited PAIRS (Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills) practitioner, Conflict Resolution practitioner, curriculum and instructional course designer and consultant, and mentor to educators around the world.

As an independent filmmaker and consultant Mary recently assisted Percolator Films (formerly Reetime Film and Video Forum) on their first film festival, The Talking Pictures Festival, which took place in Evanston, IL May 1-3. Mary is also a media literacy advocate conducting a series of media literacy/filmmaking workshops for middle-school children in conjunction with the alternative filmmaking group Split Pillow. Dr. Bruenjes has dedicated over 20 years to the field of higher education. During her tenure at Lasell College she has served as Chair of the Coeducational Transition Team, Director of Academic Computing, Chair of the Computer and Information Science Department, and, most recently Director of the RoseMary B Fuss Technology for Learning Center. Dr. Bruenjes is a former Joan Weiler Arnow Professor during which time she furthered her research in the area of computer literacy and the digital divide. She holds an Ed.D. degree in Leadership in Schooling from UMass Lowell and a Master in Business Education degree from Suffolk University. Dr. Bruenjes’ dissertation, A Multi-Case Study Investigating The Disposition Of Faculty Use Of Technology As A Learning Tool In The Higher Education Classroom, continues to inform her work as she directs the Technology Across the Curriculum initiative at the College. Dr. Bruenjes has recently co-authored the chapter on Internet2 for the Handbook of Computer Networks.

GAIL MATTHEWS-DENATALE works with faculty and administrators on strategic plans for teaching and learning with technology across the curriculum. She has a Ph.D. from Indiana University and over ten years of experience developing, implementing, and assessing online educational projects. Previously, she was a faculty member with George Mason University's Institute for Educational Transformation, Projects Manager for Northeastern University's EdTech Center, and Learning and Technology Specialist for an NSF-funded online Masters in Science Education degree program developed in collaboration by TERC and Lesley University.
