| Podcasting Can Help College Students Learn, D&M Says |

Podcasting technologies can help higher education. So suggests research by D&M Professional, parent company of Denon Professional and Marantz Professional.
The manufacturer makes products for that market. It said it hired a research firm to explore the direction of recording technologies/podcasting and their effect on teaching and learning.
It said 88% of students indicated that they were extremely or very likely to use podcasting if offered to assist in their learning process.
“The study also found that currently only 25% of universities surveyed were using recording equipment that supports podcasting technologies for downloading classes and lectures.”
The data were gathered at a dozen Midwestern universities.
“An overwhelming percentage (90%) of students who did utilize podcast lectures believed the audio recordings assisted them in the learning process,” D&M stated, “while 100% felt the use of podcasts had a positive impact on their overall grades.”
A D&M official said the higher education market “is clearly ready for aggressive adoption of podcasting technologies.”
