DESCRIPTION: Lecture capturing has exploded on the scene in the past few years. Many colleges and universities are starting to capture lectures and make them available for students to review. Some schools are also using lecture capturing technology for recording training sessions and special events on campus. A number of vendors are now in this space with different models of lecture capturing. How do institutions who are thinking of implementing lecture capturing get started and make sense of this new trend? This session will include institutions who have selected different vendors for their lecture capturing solutions. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how lecture capturing has been implemented at each institution, results that have been realized thus far (i.e. impact on grades, attendance, student and faculty satisfaction), pros and cons of the solutions that were chosen, and lessons learned.

Lecture Capture

This is growing steadily day by day. I'm entering my 4th year of podcasting and vodcasting my labs and the results have been fantastic. I gave a presentation on the subject in June at a faculty workshop here at Oberlin college which covered many of the topics described above and it was well received!
