DESCRIPTION: For educators, podcasting offers a means of communicating,
networking and collaborating via digital media. With freeware and an internet
connection (+ ability to upload files to a server), you can podcast audio and/or
video programming across the world.
Join us for a day of informative presentations dedicated to podcast
production and distribution. Learn the key concepts and related terminology
associated with podcasting, see how higher education employs podcasts, and
explore the technologies used to create podcasts and vodcasts.
Objectives:
1. Define the concepts of podcasting and RSS.
2.
Demonstrate how to find and subscribe to existing podcasts.
3. Provide an
overview of the podcasting workflow.
4. Demonstrate why and how podcasts are
used in academia.
5. Demonstrate how to create, edit and publish an audio
and video podcast, using free software tools.
