DESCRIPTION: Thought your phone was just for phone calls? No more! Join us for a day of discovery as we investigate ways in which higher education institutions are exploring use of mobile devices in education, from accessing information in the field, to participating in activities on the go, to communicating with classmates. Our introductory session “mLearning 101” will ground you in this exciting new area of educational technology with an overview of mobile learning. From there you will learn from instructors, students, and instructional technologists about mobile learning projects already taking place and participate in a peer-to-peer working session to brainstorm project ideas that fit with your institution’s curriculum, culture, and resources. By the end of the day, you should leave with a strong foundation about this exciting new terrain.
