Call for Reflection

As the fall semester comes to an end, and the year 2007 approaches, the editors at Academic Commons write to ask you to consider taking some time in the month of January to reflect on what has happened this year on your campus and in your various professions. Please consider using the Academic Commons website to share your news and experiences about new systems implemented, about new pedagogies enabled by these systems, and how they may have helped (or not!) transform in some interesting way how our students interacted with the curriculum this year. We are interested in victories small and large--or, yes, spectacular failures, as even those can provide a wealth of information.
For example:
* Did you evaluate wiki software this year? Do you want to share what you found out about that highly evolving field?
* Did you roll out podcasting to your community, or try out podcasting in your class? How did it go?
* Did you (for whatever reason) try to assess learning outcomes in connection with the deployment of some new technology? Care to share the results?
* Do you have a nifty new website that you want to showcase?
* Have you been interested in learning more about somebody else's project? Interview them!
Academic Commons is planning a new issue for the Winter of 2007, and still has space to include your contributions. Details about how to contribute can be found at http://www.academiccommons.org/node/add, while the themes we are generally interested in can be found at http://www.academiccommons.org/themes06. And we pay for most types of submissions we publish, which makes contributing a fun and productive way to pay off those bloated holiday credit card bills!
